If you can help us support our old timers and rescue animals, it would make so much difference. From old retired breeding pigs to poultry pensioners, they all have a home with us for life, but food and bedding, vets bills and general upkeep costs, and your support would be invaluable. Thank you so, so much.
As seen on TV in Ben Fogle's New Lives in the Wild!
Change your life with one of our courses choose between:
Learn how to run your own smallholding, or experience what it is like for a day.
Learn how to look after all the free-range animals.
Rear a pig - We'll rear one for you! The closest thing to having your own piglet.
Learn how to butcher a whole carcass from devising a cutting plan to suit your family, and what to do with each cut, including sausage making, dry cured bacon, hams and salami - as well as all those bits that most people don't use.

If you close your eyes and imagine an old fashioned smallholding of something like the 1900's, this would be it. Hidden Valley Farm is the Exmoor home of woodland born and bred extremely free range and rare breed Berkshire pigs.
Free from pollution and set in a picturesque valley, we feed our animals as naturally as possible. Exmoor is famous for its wild herbs and it is these natural flavours that result in us providing some of the most succulent and tasty meat in the country.
Our belief is to give a pig a purpose and a lifestyle they enjoy and they will be happy and contented and will produce amazing tasting pork with an old fashioned taste.
We are a smallholding who are focussed on the needs and wellbeing of animals such as Exmoor sheep, hens and poultry, turkeys, geese, lambs and most importantly the registered Berkshire pigs and piglets. We have no electricity or mains water on the farm, all the animals drink water collected directly from our own spring and the West Lyn River, which is pure and natural filtered across Exmoor.
Our pigs are reared in our mixed woodland on the side of our steep valley with pens up to an acre in size. They have the choice to do whatever makes them happy; if they want to root in the earth between the trees for grubs and bugs, they do. If they want to play, they do. If they want a little 'me' time on their own for a while, they can. If they want to laze about in a mud wallow cooling down, they do. They are very happy pigs.
